From 1976 to 2016, 2,405 people have been put on death row. Of that number only 1,264 people have been executed via Capital Punishment, or commonly known as “the death penalty.” Capital Punishment is a very controversial topic in America. It has prevented criminals from committing future crimes. Unfortunately, Capital Punishment is a very expensive and some would say inhumane solution to a complex situation.
