The Pros of a Donald Trump Presidency American politics have always fascinated me. Where else can you find a medium that discusses some of the world's most pressing issues, while at the same time giving you an opportunity to analyze American behavior as it unfolds upon a political system that has influenced many other countries, including the Dominican Republic. But let’s be honest, politics can also be very dull, with its insipid candidates, anticlimactic voting system, and laws worded in such a way that would confuse even Joyce. Thank god for Donald Trump!…

Many people of the Democratic party argued and questioned her even more to the point where her stance was obviously revealed to where she said states would deal with situations like this. I personally think that this is an issue with the federal discrimination laws as they have not been updated to society values of today, but I think it is necessary for Devos to acknowledge this and have a stronger position on it since discrimination is a problem. Leaving it to the states may leave some kids in jeopardy based on their stances. The Secretary of Education and Congress should work together to revise and support the…

In fact, Betsy DeVos was recently in a hearing with Democratic lawmakers and when DeVos was asked to commit to not work to privatize public school or strip a penny from public education, DeVos could not commit instead she answered "I look forward, if confirmed, to working with you to talk about how we address the needs of all parents and all students. " We clearly understand that DeVos does not see education as a public good but as a private profit,…

One of Betsy Devos’ speeches in August 2015 at the SXSWedu convention in Texas emphasizes her education vision on the issue of unequal education access in America. Her speech uses the propaganda technique of emotional appeal to convey messages about this social issue. In the speech, Betsy Devos uses a lot of emotional appealing phrases, such as calling traditional public education system a “dead end,” and labeling public schools as “low performing” schools (Strauss). She is denigrating the quality of traditional public schools, she thinks that traditional public schools are simply not as good as charters or privates. Besides, she also uses the propaganda technique of “glittering generalities”.…

I do my best to not judge a political figure based on their party affiliation. My dislike of Betsy DeVos has nothing to do with her party preferences; it has everything to do with her political opinions and experiences. I have yet to see any piece of information that could possibly change my mind.…

Today is a sad day in United States history as our new President is sworn in. This is very unsettling to me that we will have a President that has openly ridiculed disabled people, disrespected our men and women in the armed forces, empowered racism, and a man that is unable to endure any criticisms. Sadly, he is a President that is so gullible, a man that has disrespected women, insulted our current President and someone that changes their opinion in a blink of an eye. A President that has no self-control and throws twitter tantrums daily. A man that once said “I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”…
