Pros And Cons Of Being The President

Being the president sometimes you have to make decisions that are best for your country. Lincoln had to choose between making America whole and freeing the slaves. He had great reasons to keep the slaves and also a great reason to unite the nation. I personally believe he was more for uniting America for the good of the country. It is his homeland so of course he will do whatever needed to protect it. Based off of the documents, many of them were in favor of uniting the nation. Such as, Document A, Lincoln says he would like if the country joined as one; “I recommended the adoption of a joint resolution by your honorable bodies…” (Bailey, Cohen, and Kennedy, 2010, 2006) In Document D, it shows a picture of a dog like beast labeled “Rebellion”
