Pros And Cons Of Being Lauren

Hi Olu,

I'd like to bring you up to date on Lauren's progress.

I have succeeded in getting Lauren's score up from 460 to 510. She had another test that was due last night. She failed to send the results to me. Tutoring Lauren has been quite difficult because she lacks the motivation to get better at the SAT. I can attribute some of her behavior to teenage apathy, but her score is unlikely to get better with her attitude. She acts completely miserable for the entire lesson and cracks bubble gum while reading the text. When she doesn't get something she just stops reading and stares into space. I try to get her to talk her way through a passage and she refuses. She just keeps reading the text silently then looks up and gives the wrong

Parana Pine: For the Parana Pine I obtained the published value from a website since the values on the lab sheet didn’t have a values for Parana Pine. Firstly, I calculated my own Young’s Modulus Value with the result got from the tests using the equation for Young’s Modulus in Bending: E= l³/(4bd^3 ) x ( Δw)/( Δx) From using this equation, I achieved 14.44 E/GPa as a value, the published value, was: 11.37 E/GPa found on ‘The Wood Database’. The difference between my results and the Published values is: 3.07, and it was still within the range of the published value. Regarding the accuracy of the test, since this was my first time conducting this type of test, there may have been some mistakes I made that could have affected the results…

Hi Dr Ford, After the final in PSYC 201, I ended up with 434.9 points out of 486.5, which is a total of 89.39%. I calculated that I am exactly 1 point from an A (435.9/486.5 = 89.59 %). I do not know if you gave credit for the evaluation form about how our group members contributed in the group project or not, and if that gives me that extra point or not? However, I do know that I have been replying to at least 2 surveys that were posted on D2L , but I forgot to put it on my out of class activities sheet, nevertheless, I did at least two of those, which then should be worth 2 points furthermore as extra credit? I truly hope there is a way for me to gain that extra point, since I am taking this course very serious and I would hate for 1 point…

It is no secret that the television has now become a staple device in the average American home. The history of the television has evolved tremendously compared to when television sets were first introduced to the public in the early 1940’s. Over the last sixty years, they are slimmer, produce sharp images, and come in various makes and models. Not only can these physical contributions be noted, television programs often correlate to what is going on in the outside world. Lauren Zalaznick, television executive, argues that television has a conscious and its popular programs reflect similar characteristics of the American society.…
