A military career is rough and definitely a one of a kind experience because in no other career can you serve the country like you would in the military. For example the GI Bill, as a service member you qualify to apply for the bill. It grants 40,000 dollars on your choice of school and education. In other words a full ride scholarship to the school of your choice for free. Founding is also available for housing and books. Another big point is traveling to different countries for free. Not everyone can get the luxury of exploring different culture and traveling to different places for free. Today job security is rare, and it may take you a life time to get hired but you can easily be laid off or fired. The military offers you ultimate job security because the army will always be needed. There are very few minimum requirements unlike other jobs which requires experience and education. The military offers you education as you progress in your career. There are certain risks as stated previously but you can make the most out of the army. You won’t be in debts and have 100% job security if you do what is asked of you. The army will never ask you to do something unjustified or unethical because it is a law. These are just a few cons of being in the army.
