To be an American means that you're a U.S. Citizen and know your rights. Also Americans have more freedom than other countries. Some they have the students go to school with just girls or boys and here he have the right to go to school with boys and girls. Another example would be that women are allowed to work and in other places they can't work. They either have to stay home and watch their kids and make food for their husbands. We have some rights that people wish they had in their countries. Some immigrants come to the U.S. for freedom and to be able to work and go to school.
