Pros And Cons Of Being A Yankees Essay

Yankees vs Royals Game
Last summer I went to a Yankees vs Royals baseball game at kauffman stadium. Half of my family and I are huge Yankees fans, but the other have of them are Royals fans. So we all decided to pack up and head to the big game. Half of us had our Yankees hats, shirts, and jerseys on. The other half with their Royals clothes on. Throughout the years there's been many arguments on which team is better, when we got into the cars and started heading to the game the bets began to outplay. It seemed like at one point every person in the car was yelling and making some sort of bet. I made a bet with my cousin that the Yankees would win. (I knew they would)

Three strikes you’re out! Then came the Yankees. Of course they made a run in the first inning. After a few innings went by the Royals began to catch up to the Yankees. The Yankees players hit the balls hard and sent the ball rocketing into space. Lightening fast the players ran home runs right after one another.
By the end of the game the Yankees took the lead. With a score of 4-2. The game was pretty close but it sure had our family in an uproar. The walk back to the car it was complete silence, which was pretty awkward but once we got into the car we all started talking about the game. Half of us were very happy and the other half was pretty disappointed.
Even though there were a few arguments and disagreements we had a lot of fun going to the game as one big family. I think it almost brought us closer as a family because we spent the whole day together. Most of the time we only spend time as a big family when it’s a holiday, but since we actually all went somewhere other then one of our houses it made us laugh and understand each other more. We had a few upset people after the game was won by the Yankees but once we all talked about the game it cheered some of them

The two teams met again 25 days later to finish the game in front of a near empty Yankee Stadium. Because of his tirade, Brett was ejected from the game and not allowed to play, along with Royals skipper Dick Howser. Yankees manager Billy Martin, along with owner George Steinbrenner, did everything in their power to prevent the continuation of the game from occurring.
