Novels all around the world have different thoughts and opinions, but when some novels state the true facts, citizens seem to not like them and try and get them banned. A lot of these controversial novels have the harsh truth in them which parents seem to debate against and do not want their children reading, such as The Help or To Kill A Mockingbird. The banning of novels are for multitude of different reasons, however when novels are banned a lot of humans speak out their opinions and state whether they agree or disagree. A lot of novels are either controversial or challenged, which are the main reason why novels get banned, lastly all sorts of groups try to ban books from schools and other libraries.

Looking at all the banned, controversial, or challenged novels there is one trend in all of the novels. The trend is that all the novels that are banned talk about almost the same topics such as mature content, violence, inappropriate language and more. When these topics are talked about in novels parents fear that their children will learn the reality about life, however this will only show them that life is not easy but you have to make it seem easy. The groups that try and ban these novels are mostly parents. Parents think if they keep the novels away from children maybe they will be happier however, one day children will learn the reality and when they do it will hurt them more. If parents think they can keep their children away from the reality that is a not true because at school they will learn about it and if not they will either find out from their friends or another adult
Therefore the novels that are banned should not be banned because they show the reality which every child should know. Children need to know life is not easy and if they learn while reading a novel it can be easier for them to understand and they will not get as scared or frightened. However if they face the reality out of nowhere they will have a hard time adjusting to it and understanding
