Ninety-two percent of experimental drugs that are safe and effective in animals, fail in human clinical trials due to it being harmful or just not working. Animal testing is a strategic practice that cause a prodigious, or a huge, amount of animal deaths. Animals would get injected with medications, which and it can possibly lead to death. Animals are also forced to breed with other animals to create another similar species if an animal goes extinct, and that doesn’t always end up in success. Some examples of animals that are tested on are mice, rats, frogs, and hamsters. Medical animal testing should be banned since it has caused animals to go endangered, animals are killed and held in captivity each year, and now there is updated technology which means there are alternatives to animal testing.

Animal testing can constantly test on the same animal that is endangered and make it become extinct. Animal test is not a way to help save animals, it mainly focus on saving humans and animals are just as important as humans are, so it would not be fair if animals million of animals are dying each year to save humans. For instance, the National Institutes of Health which is an institute that studies health “would stop testing on chimpanzees...a couple years later, the captive chimpanzees were designated to be endangered” (Collins). The NIH were going to quit testing on chimpanzees. Even though they made the testing group smaller, it still made the animal go endangered. Now, scientists and researchers have to have a permit, to give permission to test on that specific endangered animal.
