Airplane landing… clapping?

Colombian people are extremely grateful, no matter what simple gesture they receive, they will thank it as much as possible. For many people, traveling in an airplane is boring, and they end up pissed off and with a horrible mood due to turbulences, their ears hurting and uncomfortable seats. But Colombians? Oh god! there's nothing that makes them as grateful as when an airplane lands.
Imagine the worst flight ever, with turbulences, lights off, no bathroom available, the pilot telling his non-understandable flight information throughout the whole flight and a terrible landing. You can even imagine a disaster landing in a forest, or in the middle of the ocean. No matter what type of flight you have, Colombians

The visual imagery I chose was, ¨The seat belt sign flickered it’s vibrant colors off, creating a swarm of people to emerge from their seats. Unfamiliar faces hustled their things and rushed out, as if their life depended on it¨ (5). This is effective because coveny’s the way I viewed the whole experience when the plane landed in Bulgaria. The auditory imagery I chose was, ¨Rosters selfishly screamed to awaken every living thing¨ (6).…

Air travel is nowhere near comfortable. A message from Dr. Florence Thomson written in response to an article published in The British Medical Journal in 1953 was, “most passengers are quite unable to rest in comfort in the position allowed, and sleep is quite impossible except in very short snatches” (996). In 2016, nothing changed for the better in this regard; CNN recently published an article about the disruptive passengers in flights and incidents of air rage in airplanes (McKirdy). What did change significantly is what comes before boarding the airplane. It has been 15 years since that horrifying day in September 2001.…

I woke up and I only had two hours of sleep, and my flight was leaving in two more hours. My head was pounding, I had a terrible headache and my throat was dry and in need of water, so I drank lots of Gatorade to avoid dehydration. My father picked me up at Renata’s house, and then we went to pick up my luggage and my aunts who were traveling back to the United States with me. Guasave had no airport so we had to go to Los Mochis; it was a thirty minutes drive and all I had in my mind was how much I would miss my family and friends, my mom cooking, my favorite places in Guasave such as Aroma café, the beach, the seafood, and the delicious restaurants.…

People don’t think cheerleading is a sport because everyone goes to support the players, they don’t notice the cheerleader. “Those who feel cheerleading should not be a sport claim that cheerleading's main purpose is to support other athletes, and not to compete against other cheerleading squads” (Proquest Staff). When there is a timeout, or it’s in between quarters, the cheerleaders show off what they have been working on. Another reason is many people say that they don’t have such a high risk of getting injured. This is definitely not true because the flyer could not be caught, bases and backspots can be kicked.…

The Houston runway was quickly disappearing beneath me, the plane ascending, leaving my stomach dismantled on the tarmac. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was truly on a plane, by myself, headed to Buenos Aires, Argentina. My mother laughed at the thought of me living abroad; consistently making it known my ideas were childish, financially unstable and unattainable. With a slight grin pulling at my lips, I close my eyes and begin to wonder what the world will look like on the other side of that airplane door.…

The Ethnic Theory of Plane Crashes Rhetorical Analysis “Tell them we are in an emergency!” (Gladwell 193). Failure to communicate with Air Traffic Control is one of the leading causes of plane crashes worldwide. This quote explains how a Colombian co-pilot’s inherent politeness was the cause of a major airplane crash. Korean and Colombian air pilots are far more likely to cause a plane crash than Americans because of their high power-distance index rating; which means that their culture dictates that they stick to procedure regardless of the situation.…
