The Ethical Dilemma Of Abortion

Abortion I have always loved children. Children truly are a blessing from our creator. I thought one of my best friends felt the same way. It is as if I can her child say; “ I can feel the tender arms I am in, and I feel so much love, and then I realize they are angels from heaven above. My little mind is so confused, and all my thoughts must be sorted, oh wait, now I understand, when one of them whispers aborted” (Sanderson, Brandie). Is abortion ethical? Is abortion moral? Is abortion a sin? Will God forgive me? No doubt, abortion is an ethical dilemma.

The Christian believe the child is innocent, the child has done no wrong. The Christian knows this act as sin, because only God has the right to give, or take life. There are many options for the pregnant woman, many good options, none of which are abortions. The way for a Christian to handle this type situation is first, don’t abort the child. The Christian would then need to seek counseling and support for any physical, emotional, and spiritual issues. If a woman will look to God in her hour of need, he will provide.

Evaluation The benefits from following a Christian perspective on abortion are life changing. The woman gets the chance to be a mother, or even has the power to allow another woman become a mother. She has the ability to give the gift of life and love. Following God is not always easy, but it is truly always worth it and rewarding. While the only unintended consequence being death for the mother giving birth, it is still the option God would want. The greatest gift we can give is love, and giving one the chance of life, is just

Since the 1900s women have found ways to have rights. On January 22, 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court said it was a woman’s right to have an abortion due to the Fourteenth amendment. This case, Roe v. Wade, is a case that went down in history and to this day, still has the public bickering over the results. On one hand, you have citizens that are pro-life and believe life is created at conception, and that every life is valuable and should not be destroyed. On the other hand, you have citizens that are pro-choice and believe life does not start until the child is born into the world, and up until that point it should be up to the woman if she wants to keep the fetus.…

There has been a long existing debate of “Pro-Life” versus “Pro-Choice” about whether or not women should be able to abort a child. Many people being Pro-Choice will use the argument that the fetus isn 't a living person, and rather that it is the woman’s body; therefore the woman’s choice. There are other options women have such as adoption: waiting until the baby is born and providing the child a well-suited family to properly care for them. I believe any way you can avoid aborting a child is better than abortion because you give the child a chance for life. An unborn child in the womb contains all of the characteristics for it to be considered living, proving abortion is morally and scientifically wrong.…

This option is considered unethical and goes contrary with the Christian worldview. This decision does not even guarantee absolute happiness and joy as the mother can develop post abortion syndrome and other complications from the abortion. Post abortion syndrome is a form of post-traumatic stress disorder. Also, the woman can experience a guilty conscience for the rest of her life or “have a delayed reaction as long as eight years, lastly the memory of it may haunt her for life” (Abortion, 2014).…
