Subject: Dr. Fiddle’s records Hello Lisa, I have reviewed Dr. Fiddle’s records and determined which documents should be included in the financial statements. Additionally, for each record that should be included, I have determined whether the record belongs in the income statement and/or balance sheet based on the accrual method. I have also indicated in what sections it should be captured such as revenue/expenses, or assets/liability/equity.…
This money was used with the debt her campaign committee had ended with. Rolf Odegaard now finds himself in a legal situation for potentially violating the Election Campaign Finance Act. This issue here is whether Rolf Odegaard violated the Election Campaign Finance Act under the current statue. In order to establish if Rolf violated the Election Campaign Finance Act, it’s essential to establish if Rolf is an immediate family member. Sec 2 “This Act is intended to regulate political activity, to regulate campaign financing, and to restrict campaign contributions and expenditures without jeopardizing the ability of candidates for state public office to…
In David Callahan’s article titles, As Government Retrenches, Philanthropy Booms, the idea of philanthropists having too much power is discussed. Callahan talks about struggles that the state of Michigan has had in the past and how the assistance of philanthropy has helped in tackling issues that the government would not. Philanthropists use their funds in order to change things in society, some examples that are given are funding charter schools and aerial surveillance cameras in Baltimore. While it is good for philanthropy to be influential in creating and funding things like this, the author states that this also gives the philanthropists too much power due to their nimbleness, or ability to fund whatever they want. Some rules that Callahan thought could be created in order to prevent total power by philanthropy include more transparency in reporting charitable gifts, and stricter limits on tax-deductible…
Charity has a big role is the novel “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens and takes an apparent theme through the book. The concept of charity changes the main character Ebenezer Scrooge and his holiday spirit throughout a short time period. When Scrooge wasn't willing to donate to charity she was a bitter and rude old man. Throughout the three days where Christmas spirits visited him, he gained Christmas spirit and donated to charity which made him and overall happier person. In the beginning of the novel “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, Dickens is a miserable and bitter old man who is unwilling to donate to charity.…
The intent of the gift is not a necessary element to prove a personal benefit. Although the gift could be used in a situation as a replacement for monetary value as discussed above, the gift could simply be altruistic in nature. Even in such cases, the tippee still has a duty not to trade stemming from the tipper’s fiduciary duty. “Absent some legitimate reason for [the tipper’s] disclosure, the inference that [the] disclosure was an improper gift of confidential corporate information is unassailable. If [the tipper] did not have to make any disclosure, why tell [the tippee] anything?”…
Recently, a Chick-fil-A owner temporarily closed his restaurant for five months due to renovation. Instead of laying off his workers, he surprised his employees by offering to pay them during the renovation period and even giving them a raise. In a conventional view of business, this would seem like a bad idea. However, could this display of generosity actually be a good thing? Similarly, Xenophon’s Cyrus often acts generously in situations where a typical leader might not.…
People should support the make a wish foundation because it because it gives children with life ending lines hope while making there dreams come true. In the article how it started the author states that “Chris gives a last smile for the men who have done so much for him” ( How it started 1). That piece of evidence shows how people from the make a wish foundation made chris dreams come true while he was going through hard times. Therefore i can infer that that when Chris dream came true it gave him hope because his dream came true and it put a smile on his face. Overall I think that people should support the make a wish foundation because it makes kids dreams come true which leads to them having hope though hard times.…
Others have provided greats answers. I will highlight how government contributes to income inequality in negative ways: * **Minimum wage: **prices out inner city youth from the job market. Creates permanently unemployable groups of people. Helps large corporations because they can pay and harms small businesses because they cannot way.…
I wonder if they would have treated him differently if they had knowledge of his daughter’s position. The health care worker doesn’t realize peer disparities affects patient care and they suffer. I’ve heard and seen it all; that’s not my job, why can she/he do it, I refuse or I’m going to ignore. In the meantime, poor patients are left stewing in their own waste, unfed and mistreated. The end result to your story, they mistreated the wrong patient and lost their jobs.…

Growing up, we were taught that education is everything, and that is an important key to success. For many occupations today, some form of a degree is a necessary requirement to landing the job. Well, the same goes for the police force. More and more police forces are requiring candidates to have at minimum, a college level degree. One department in general would be the Arlington Police Department.…
A police officer is given glorious force to protect and serve others behind the reinforcement of government laws to keep the equal powers and stone strong rights we have been given; among the aspects of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Since the early eighteenth century they have been under the light as superhero figures, however in some cases this powerful position has been contradicted through the abuse of individual rights with victims of society. It not only corrupts their position of power but it also interferes with the civil qualities they have been given by the people, through disobeying the laws that they enforce against the society. Instead of setting a positive and safe example, they outrage the society by their hypocritical…
Over the course of this semester I have seen multiple ways in which the Bible addresses ethical dilemmas. Personally based on the scenario(s) given I would do the morally correct thing in that instance. For example, using an expense account to take out a spouse and friends at the end of the month is not morally right. That example can be tied with the 7th Commandment found in Exodus 15, “You shall not steal.” If was an employee and had been given an expense account, I would assume that could be used for all expenses incurred for the company, not for personal leisure.…
For many years, there have always been either police officers or constables. With this job of enforcing laws, some people may think certain laws may or may not be unjust and they might choose to follow or not follow the law and arrest people on certain charges. Officer discretion is a big tool in law enforcement. Discretion gives officers a choice in what to do in situations and how to act. It is beneficial to not only the officers but it is also beneficial to the public in certain circumstances.…
Should Students Be Paid For Good Grades In School? Should students be paid for having good grades? This topic has some really strong arguments on either side. In this research paper I will list facts and argue both sides of this debate. Some people believe paying students for good grades is a bad idea, I personally believe students will strive to do better when they are paid for their work.…
