Making Musicians Village

Musicians ' Village is an example of how community can be in the favor art and also how art can be in the favor community. The initial sense of community was established after the devastations of Hurricane Katrina and because of its effects on people; however, art was a catalyzer for creating this sense. As a form of art, architecture had a significant role in making Musicians village what it is today. Rebuilding the houses was a project that was done purely based on people’s willingness to help each other. As it is stated in the video, the down payment for building the houses was “sweat, work, and, man power”. The people helped each other in building all of the Musicians ' Village houses. Music is a shared language for the Musicians ' Village residents. The music is everywhere, from each house’s porch to the scene of village’s music center. Music has helped the residents to “share their passion” and enjoy living next to each other. The village’s music center is also a place for everybody, regardless of the age, to learn, practice, and enjoy the music while working and living inside a community. Therefore, art and community has unified with each other in the musician’s village; this has made Musicians ' Village a special place to live.
The historical aspect of the community of the LeDroit Park is what makes this community a special place to live. Throughout its almost 150 years of history, LeDroit Park has experienced many changes; after World War I, it was famous for its educated community, however, later that the high rate of crime made it to be an unsafe place to live. Nevertheless, all of these changes are now an identity for LeDroit Park and a reason for many people to either preserve their historical houses or try to become part of this
