The Future In Trying To Stop Concussions

The future in trying to stop concussions still has a ways to go. The future could be as easy as making helmet to helmet hits illegal in the game and penalize the player. And in the pros they could possible fine the players for the helmet to helmet hits which they have started to do. If a player does get a possible concussion scientist are looking into being able to take a quick blood sample on the sideline, like if you were checking blood sugar, and test it to see if the player has an elevated protein level, which the brain releases into the blood after a brain injury. Another thing scientist are looking into is a biomarker which is a particular substance that could be detected in blood, saliva or urine that would signal that a head injury as occurred. After having to deal with one last week, I do not want to have to go through that again. The way mine happened was a freak accident and we still do not fully know how it happened. I do not remember anything that happened on that Friday from school to the game. When it happened I got told I kept saying I was very dizzy and everything around me was spinning. As they sat me down on the bench they had to put towels over my head to block the lights because they made everything worse.
