There are many resources available. Online classes for educators through Dyslexia Training Institute. The classes are four weeks and start at $199.00. There are also webinars that are about two hours and start around $45.00 dollars. There are simulations that parents and teachers can attend which are free, or they can also purchase the masters and have their own simulation held at the school or community center, that costs around $145.00. The simulation is called dyslexia for a day. It is five activities that the participants partake in. It allows for empathy. The first time I went through it, it opened my eyes to the struggles that my son was going through on a daily basis. That is one event that I believe is worth the time. There are workshops put on by NOBIDA the Northeast Ohio Branch of International Dyslexia Association. NOBIDA is a great resource for the local community to check out they have a lot of free events. They also have a two-day conference every year. Schools can also have a local dyslexia specialist come in and talk with teachers. Lawrence School also holds free reading screenings for children in grades kindergarten through third grade. I think that having that at every school would be great. The schools do hearing and vision screenings why not have a reading screen
