If you were in the LGBT community during the 1800-1900s you would of been thrown in jail and fined up to $1,000. Being attracted to a member of the same-sex could of landed you in jail with a $1,000 fine back then. If an individual was gay in the military you had to keep it a secret from other, especially your enemy because they may target you due to your interest in a partner. Other members of the population are furious of that members of the LGBT community are not getting punished for “committing a crime against nature”. This quote is stating that the majority of the population today see the incident as unnecessary and wrong. If we follow these steps, even if it is not the step completely, our world would change for the better for everyone. No one would have to live in fear all because of their love interest. No one would be thrown in jail or have other citizens run hate crimes against them due to them being apart of the LGBT community.
