Promoting safety and preventing injury is the responsibility of nurses and nursing students. For instance, during the clinical weeks, before administering blood pressure, cardiac medications, and insulin I always checked patients’ vital signs and blood sugar. I also rechecked vital signs and blood sugar after administering the medication. Moreover, the patient's food tray must be in front of the patient before I administer the insulin. On the other hand, after I provided care to patients, I made sure that I placed the call light and the phone next to the patient for easy access. I also made sure that the bed placed in the lowest position before I leave the patient’s room.
