It is an honor to be selected for this scholarship program. It is my prerogative to identify opportunities to raise cultural awareness. I am of the view that diversity is knowledge. Diversity teaches different things about why people act a certain way, or do certain things. Being culturally aware in this regards, will provide the opportunity to consider different personal values, backgrounds, beliefs and upbringings that shape society. Learning about other cultures helps us relate to one another, and understand different perspectives. As a part of this program, I will be able to increase my knowledge regarding other cultures, and efficiently promote diversity.

In order to have diversity present on a college campus, strong leadership is essential. I can contribute many skills to promote diversity, including the valuable asset of leadership.
