While I haven’t perhaps let this way of life help promote diversity I know that it has allowed me to see others in a new light. Having always feared judgment on myself and in fact being judged and bullied for the way my family was I would say that this has allowed me to look to better understand others and where they are coming from in all that I do. Today, when I look at someone I don’t just instantly judge and perceive people one way I always strive to get to know people individually and understand their perspectives on life. I realize you can’t judge a book by its cover, it doesn't matter how they appear you can’t see what's going on in their life at first glance.
