"So, we're going to the prom as a couple, right?" Melody asked.
"Yeah," Sarah said.
Sarah sighed.
"I know it's hard to come out," Melody said. "Especially at the prom. But Steve, Shelly, and Michael will be there to suppot us. The fact that we came out to them is a big step."
"It's harder for me because my parents kicked me out for being gay. I'll never forget how my dad screamed at me. 'I didn't raise any faggots!' I'll also never forget how my mom slapped me across the face and how she uttered death threats to me if I didn't leave the house right away."
"I remember you knocking on my door that night because you had nowhere else to go.
But then again. My parents took you in and we've lived together since. Look, we don't have to go as a couple.

Certain lies and rules such as, whites suspecting that all blacks behold a gun; both races should not be seen hanging out together etc. For example in the documentary a white and black girl assimilated in a conflict, where the white girl claimed that the black girl had a gun and had intentions to use it against her. Or Jessica, a white student, being punished by her stepfather for having a black friend. In 1992, Morgan Freeman, a famous actor from Charleston, Mississippi, arrived to Charleston high school where he offered to pay all the expenses for an integrated prom, but his…

I went to school every day in my grandpa’s car and played badminton after school. After a few years of happily living together with our son, my husband and some of the other males in the city were recruited by the army and sent to war in Arginusae against the Spartans. After what felt like forever of being separated from my dearly beloved and many days of praying to the gods for my husband to stay safe, he had finally returned home to us.…
