Prokaryotes Are Single Cell Organisms That Do Not Have Organelles

Decent Essays
Prokaryotes are single cell organisms that do not have organelles or any internal membrane-bound structures, due to that they do not have a nucleus however they instead have a single chromosome.
Unlike prokaryotes, eukaryotes have nucleus which are surrounded by a membrane and its DNA is bound together by proteins into chromosomes.

b-The nucleus is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Inside its fully-enclosed nuclear membrane, it contains the majority of the cell's genetic material. This material is organized as DNA molecules, along with a variety of proteins, to form chromosomes. The main function of the cell nucleus is to control gene expression and mediate the replication of DNA during the cell cycle.…

There are many organelles in the animal cell. There is the nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, cell membrane, vacuoles, lysosomes, mitochondria, cytoplasm, ribosomes, & golgi apparatus. The nucleus directs all the cells activities, including reproduction. Endoplasmic Reticulum is a network of membranous tubules within the cytoplasm continuous with the nuclear membrane; It usually has ribosomes attached The cell membrane protects the cell and regulates what substances can enter and leave. Some animal cells have vacuoles that store food, water, & waste.…

The nucleus is the largest of all the organelles in an animal cell, it is known as the control centre. The structure of the nucleus contains a nuclear membrane, chromosomes, nucleolus and a cytoplasm. The nucleus is a sphere shaped organelle which is found in eukaryotic cells. This organelle does most of the functions throughout the animal cell. It is responsible for most of the genetic material, which is DNA and RNA.…

Each organelle is significant to its cell, which are the building blocks of life. At the center of almost every cell is a dense organelle called the Nucleus. It contains the cell's genetic material and usually has a double membrane. The double membrane that protects the nucleus is similar to the thin single membrane made up of proteins and lipids.…

Eukaryotes have much larger genomes than prokaryotes, and therefore, must condense their DNA into chromatin. Chromatin is composed of histone proteins that help to condense and organize the DNA forming chromosomes. The basic unit of this chromatin is a nucleosome, which contains about 150 base pairs of DNA that are wrapped 1.7 times around the core histone proteins.…

Prokaryotes can be recognized as a single-celled organism that lack the extensive internal compartments. Unlike eukaryotes, the prokaryotes concentrated their genetic materials in a small portion of cell’s cytoplasm known as nucleoid. Almost entire prokaryotic genome is contained in a single circular DNA strand that is supercoiled. Some additional genes are located on an independent small, circular or linear plasmids which coding for extra properties likes antibiotic resistance (Brown, 2002). Typically, prokaryotes lack of genetic organization compared to eukaryotes.…

INTRODUCTION Cellular respiration is the breaking down of organic molecules by means of catabolic pathways that uses electron transport chain to produce ATP (Campbell 2011). ATP is used as energy in the synthesis of light or also known as Photosynthesis . ATP is used by photosynthetic organisms to produce their own food and also by performing cellular respiration. It needs mainly glucose and oxygen that involves the transfer of electrons in a chemical reaction.…
