My career aspirations and enthusiasm toward Construction and Project Management have been highly influenced by my undergraduate study majoring in Civil Engineering. The undergraduate curriculum in Civil Engineering at NIT-Surat introduced me to a wide spectrum of subjects. But it was the field of Construction planning & Project Management which captured my interest and since then, I have started taking interest in this field. Later on I came to realize that to become an efficient & capable project manager in the Construction Industry, I should undertake training in individual areas construction world lacking in their academic background and maintain a equilibrium between all the necessary knowledge and technical skills which led me to pursue Masters in Civil Engineering in the area of Construction and Project Management at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver which is the center of excellence to study Construction and Project Management in the globe. During my study of Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering at the Sardar Patel National Institute of Technology, an Institute of National Importance declared by the Government of India in the field of Engineering and Technology, I understood that the roots of twentieth century project management are generally accepted as lying in …show more content…
Apparently, I got the chance of working in one of the L&T’s construction project which was the “Construction of 3.5MTPA brown field cement plant”. This is the place where I have started stepping in to the world of construction & project management & while working I really felt the criticality of project management. After successful completion of my training; I was promoted as a senior engineer in Planning Department & it’s my responsibility to prepare schedules, estimation, planning & controlling of construction activities, team building, resource planning
