My First Date Analysis

Project B caught my attention because I am currently in my first real, happy relationship. I didn’t like to date when I was younger for I never really saw a point. I consider myself an ambitious person and I have never been able to see myself making Tennessee my permanent home. My high school was flooded with proud Tennesseans (and assholes), so I refused to settle down with a boy who could possibly change my mind. For me, dating is just the first step of a happily ever after. If you can’t see yourself marrying that individual, why bother? I met Ethan Parry at a very strange time in my life. I had recently escaped from an emotionally damaging relationship and I didn’t think I would attempt to date anyone again for a long time. He introduced …show more content…
It was far from love at first sight, though. In fact, I didn’t even find him attractive when I got my first glance. Less than a month later, he asked me on a date. My mother has always encouraged me to keep an open mind when it comes to boys, because she had doubts about my father when he began to pursue her. Twenty-six years of demonstrating nothing but true love and happiness persuaded me to say yes. Our first date was at Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain. I tend to be shy around guys and I was scared I wouldn’t know what to talk about. However, he and I sat down and talked for two and a half hours. I knew from that day alone that our relationship had great potential. Our results from the personality test didn’t provide me with any reassurance. The test measured our preferences of where we focus our attention, how we acquire information, how we make decisions, and how we orient toward the outer world. Although Ethan and I displayed differences in some of these areas, we have found ways to make …show more content…
Ethan and I scored almost identical in this area and I love that. We both use intuition to perceive information. I think it’s important for couples to be similar in this aspect because otherwise, there would be plenty of room for conflict. For example, if I was dating a guy who was a sensing type, I think he would be more likely to see my thoughts and ideas as impractical or unrealistic and that would just piss me off. As intuitive types, Ethan and I encourage each other to think outside the box. We often compare our thoughts and ideas and it makes for great discussion. I have learned a lot from him during our six months of being together and I believe that’s the way it should

It was not very eventful, other than the fact Tanner got us lost and we ended up in the middle of the road about a football field away from our cabin. We remained on the paved trails that time, but we passed by a side trail that was only made up of trees and dirt. The group talked about maybe going there the next morning, but I was not sure if I was welcome to come along. At least not until they talked about it, agreed on going, and turned to me and asked, “Are you…

The Waterhouse Center was an incredible experience and an appropriate use of class time. The activities served as an informal way to get to know our peers, as well as an opportunity to analyze our own behavior. As a member of group “A” led by Bernie, we successfully accomplished a majority of the different events on his property. I will explain how we experienced success and trouble as a group, as well as how I handled my Myer’s Brigg’s typology and Big 5 personality types in relation to other individuals.…

2013, end of my Sophomore year, was the year I became best friends with a guy who is now a stranger. The first time Zach and I met was when he moved to Queen City in the 8th grade. April of our 8th grade year we voted on class favorites and we both were awarded the most courteous award, which was awkward because I barely knew the guy. It was not until the end of my Sophomore year that I actually talked to him and by Junior year we were dating. The reciprocal part of the attraction theory, the clinging to first impression part of attribution error, and the Knapp’s Relational Development, though not in order, terminating coming before stagnation and avoidance, describe our relationship well.…

Have you ever encountered an absolutely gorgeous, charismatic hunk-of-man who, upon meeting him for the first time, had you convinced every move you'd made in your life, up to that point, led you directly to him? Did you feel strangely alive at the time; nevertheless fearing you might die because you suddenly forgot how to inhale, becoming light-headed due to a lack of oxygen? Initially, you probably fell into a state of panic as your eyes grew wide and your heart pounded painfully in your chest, but just in the knick of time you suddenly remembered you could breathe all on your own. In the days that followed, did you diligently fill every waking moment of your day with thoughts of him, reliving every second of the magic, never wanting to…

Our date ended and he went home and I went upstairs to our apartment above the restaurant. I went to bed and dreamt of our date all night and thought of how tomorrow would be. Part I Demonterius Dorsey What captured my attention the most in A.E Stalling’s First Love A Quiz , was how the actual poem was written in the format of a multiple choice quiz. The first line in each stanza starts off as a phrase, and the lines that follow are in A , B , C , format. The poem itself was short, yet very vivid and vague at the same time. Before reading the first line, I already had the impression from the title that the poem would be very similar to a quiz given by grade school teachers.…

Humans are naturally deceitful and deceptive, it’s just in our nature. We often put on a façade to emphasize our significance and flaunt our superiority to each other. We are shallow beings; our deepest desire is to make everyone envious of how wonderful we are, even if we are just as insignificant as a spec of dust, floating through the wind. It’s all about appearances with us. Every single one of us is guilty of seeking attention; it’s an undeniable fact that we all just want to be acknowledged and appreciated, regardless of whether or not that acknowledgement is valid or if we actually deserve it in the first place.…

In 2008, all of the female first graders, and probably even a few of the male first graders, had a crush on the same seven year-old kid (for his sake and mine I'm going to change his name to John Smith). In the years to follow, the entire elementary school would have heard of and, of course, fallen for John Smith. But for the moment I, being a naive, newly turned seven year-old, thought that I would be the one to date John Smith. So one day towards the end of the school year, my teacher announced that we would be playing heads-up seven-up!…

We're all familiar with Nicholas Sparks and his heart warming, but predictable movies. After watching for no less than 20 minutes, we already know how it’s going to end. “How I Met My Husband” by Alice Munro is quite the opposite. “How I Met My Husband” is not the average love story. This story provides a good example of both situational and dramatic irony.…

“Love at First Sight” “Is Love at first sight realistic” and “are soulmates real,” are questions that are not fully answered and are still questioned by science. Imagine that your soul mate, or if you don’t believe in them, the person you’re “destined” to be with has crossed paths with you manifold times before finally, formally meeting them. Ironic is it not? Fate is supposed to bring the two individuals together, yet the first time you informally meet, if it ever comes into being, you may not remember at all. This is how Wislawa Szymborska perceives love at first sight.…

The one thing that most everyone, at one time or another, looks for is love. In order for that to happen, one would have to go on an event that is called a first date. Everyone has this idea that being asked on a first date is the scariest part, but in actuality, it is going on that first date that is scary. If the date goes well, then that leads to the second date, the third date, and sometimes more that. However, the first date, it seems to lay the groundwork for the future relationship, if there is one.…
