In Project Alert videos we saw teenagers acting out situations that had to do with marijuana or smoking. As well as videos about peer pressure and what to do if someone were to offer you a blunt or a cigarette. In the solutions videos we saw choices these teenagers can make when being offered marijuana or a cigarette. The videos themselves had good messages and showed good information. However, these videos are quite outdated now and I don’t think they should be used now. Especially since the videos did not have the best acting and were sometimes a bit funny. I think that this project had a good idea of what they wanted to accomplish and I think these videos helped them in their advocacy.
2. The Life Skills Training Program

He talks about what it is like to be different in our society today. It shows us we grow up wanting to be different things, however, we are put down by many adults telling to chose something realistic. If you ask most people they have no clue or aren’t completely sure they know what they want to do. I loved this Ted Talk, because it brought up so old memories and I just felt connected to what he was saying. Especially the part where he says they ask us what we want to be but it has to realistic. The poem resonated with me in personal matter. I have experienced some bullying in my life, but it was never in where I was tormented everyday. I was called a few names and they are words that I still can’t quite get over. It is reminded me of the saying sticks and stones, but what people don’t realize is that words stick with you. This Ted Talk was a great video that really opened my eyes and heart to what many children experience
