World War I was a major when a major conflict fought in Europe and around the world between the years of 1914 and 1918. There were lots of nations involved, except for Russia, Britain, France, Germany, and Austria-Hungary were dominated. During world War I records showed that there were over more than eight million people who had lost their lives. There were several events that took place that led to World War 1. Events that I read about were the immediate cause, Imperialism, Nationalism, and Militarism.
First, Imperialism which was a major event I read upon when looking into some of the events. Imperialism is when the country increases their power and wealth by bringing other territories under their control. Finally, Militarism when the world had entered the 20th century an arms race had begun. Militarism is a philosophy or system that places great importance on military power.
