Professor Frasure: Student Membership Reflection

Our chapter advisor Professor Frasure has continuously encouraged academic excellence and membership recruitment within our chapter and throughout our campus. Every time our campus hosts an event such as Mountain View’s True Blue Party and New Student Convocation, he always makes sure that our chapter is present to communicate with students and make them aware of Phi Theta Kappa and accept membership when they are eligible, while utilizing recruitment tools such as the brochures to further provide prospective students access to Phi Theta Kappa information off campus. Our chapter always encourages campus and faculty involvement because of Professor Frasure’s dedication to Phi Theta Kappa, which is why he saw that our chapter draft an email and communicate personally with professors at Mountain View asking them if they will take the time to hand out Phi Theta Kappa flyers to their class and allow one of our chapter officers to speak for five minutes to their students about Phi Theta Kappa. Outside of his classroom, Professor Frasure can be seen conversing with students in his office or in the hallways of the campus, who often approach him inquiring their membership code. After overseeing that they meet the requirements, Professor Frasure will immediately create a code for the student to become a Phi Theta Kappa member, while also directing them to our meetings and making sure that we receive their contact info so that they can receive our updates. Our chapter’s induction ceremony is very crucial to Professor Frasure as he aims for the new members to be recognized for their achievements and realize the importance of their investment in becoming a Phi Theta Kappa member at our induction
