Professionalism In The Classroom

Professionalism is important for teachers and can have an efficacy-related belief towards academic emphasis, faculty trust in students, parents and educator's collective efficacy acceptance of the school system. (Barge,2012) So, how should a teacher carry herself? The first way is to dress appropriately for work. (Cappa,2015) It should say that you are ready to show that you care about yourself, and you care about them. The next thing is how our behavior is with the administration and the staff at the school assigned. Even though you may not agree with the reason or wonder the purpose; it is better to do what follows protocol and standards. (Zieger, 2016) You can’t work if you are not getting along with each other. The first thing that a student should see every day is a smile and an enthusiastic to see your students. (Zieger, 2016) It should be an environment that feels safe and has a trust for each other. When it comes to parents, they should be informed who their teacher is and is certified to teach. The way to do that is to have all your credentials, personal information about you, your family, and the thing you like. The best way to do this is creating a section on the wall in class that tells everything about you. (Capps, 2015) It shows that you are not just a teacher, but you do have a family and are no different than they are. It also gives the parents a piece of mind. I have seen a lot of these not practiced during my field experience, and I wonder if they realize how it affected the atmosphere in the classroom.
