Greek Life was established in 1775 and has grown globally at a significant rate. Over eight hundred college campuses and nine million students in the United States and Canada participate in Greek Life (New Jersey Institute of Technology, 2015). Not only can I find meaning by nurturing my newfound friendships, but I can also generate meaning by maintaining the relationships with my family and friends back home. This source of generating meaning to contribute to my happiness is justified in the same way as strengthening my newfound friendships. According to Wolf’s theory, these actions have subjective appeal and objective validity. Over the past couple of weeks on the college campus, there have been recent reports of bullying and harassment among the students. Many students have disclosed that they have been discriminated against and excluded from various parts of the campus. One African American student claimed a large group of males cornered her against a wall and shouted derogatory language in her face. This situation has developed into a problem that is interfering with learning and the safety of the students. The writing process is different and unique to all individuals; many people follow the ideal steps of prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing as opposed to others taking shortcuts, skipping steps, and going straight to editing. This English class has been very helpful in my efforts to improve my writing abilities, but has also been very challenging due to there being a different median for every essay. It’s been a heavy work load especially this semester since I decided to enroll in five classes, but in the end it has been very beneficial indeed. I can’t say that writing essays has been one of my strong points but I believe that this course has helped me improve tremendously and it has also made me feel a lot more comfortable with my writing.
