Professionalism
After receiving an education from Poole College of Management, I hope to seek employment as an entry-level financial advisor at a prestigious financial institution such as Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo or Morgan Stanley. Afterwards, I would work for my dream employer Deloitte who are located in the Duke Energy Building in Charlotte, NC. As a consultant for Deloitte, I want to be able to travel around the country because I enjoy experiencing new cultures and interacting with people face to face. Similar to every successful professional and business owner I will have my ups and downs, but I have to power my way through the adversity. Companies are simply tired of similar experiences and similar thinking styles. People want and are working for a more diverse community. I hope I can work with a variety of different people because I would be able to learn from others who have a different background. I would love to work with different coworkers because each individual is bringing something different to the table. My team would work efficiently because the work would be evenly divided for each employee’s strength. Additionally, meeting new people in college allows me to try new things. I love trying new things such as food, clothing and activities. I want to open my horizon to different culture by learning more about them by attending seminars, festivals and forums. Hopefully as an employee of a prestigious company, I hope I am able to work with different age employees. I hope I can learn from older management that will teach me the tricks to survive in the business world. Later in my career I hope I can pass my knowledge on to new entry level positions teaching them a hard work ethic, professionalism and knowledge. As a practicing Hindu, I want to hold forums in my company teaching them the values and rules I follow. However, I am passionate about other religions and I hope to grasp a deeper understanding on why they follow their values. Throughout my first semester, I have realized that I plan on participating in new activities and student organization. As every college student I plan on working extremely hard for the highest G.P.A possible. I have started off my freshman year on the right foot and hopefully I continue on the right path towards success. This school year with the help of my peer leader and my academic mentor, I have decided to also major in sports management due my passion of analyzing sports as well as managing the business side of things. Additionally, I have greatly appreciated my student mentors and shown me that leadership is an important quality. I hope that I am able to be an orientation leader or peer leader for the next school year. I want to help my mentees figure out college early in their academic life, similar to how my mentors helped me. As a junior at North Carolina State University, I hope I am able to study abroad with my fellow peers and friends. I plan on studying in London with a small group of friends, where we can take weekend trips all across Europe. Studying abroad helps me look more unique on paper and I will be allowed to share my experiences with my peers and employer.
