How do professional writers deal with writing blocks? Professional authors have battled with writer's block since the start of literature itself, famous authors such as Mark Twain even “offered advice” for writers to overcome writer's block: ““The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one,” (Van Cleave , Ryan, et al).
