Professional Reflection Paper

Professional Reflection Developing a health communication campaign is much more than just a final requirement to complete a Master’s Degree in Communication, and defining a scholarly Concentration in Health Communication. The process and outcomes of developing a campaign, designed to bring about awareness and prevention of skin cancer in the State of Minnesota, encompassed what I have learned over six years of higher educations, and applying theories, new skill sets, and life experiences, to a very real and important health issue. The organization provided me with a source of hope and strength as I battled the disease myself, and changed my whole perspective and outlook on life. The organization blossomed from one woman’s personal battle with the disease, and questioning why there were not enough treatments being developed, to leaders in research, awareness, and prevention on a global and domestic scale (MRF, 2015). However, I really did realize how many ore improvements I could have made, until I developed my presentation.
