Linda is a very dedicated and passionate professional nurse. This is exemplified by her commitment to patient safety and as an advocate for the nursing staff. A thoughtful listener, she is able to lead meetings and discussions to achieve a final consensus with the fellow staff and coworkers. If Linda does not know something, she will make it her business to find out, learn what she needs, and closes the loop with the end-user. I have enjoyed working with Linda over the past three years; pre and post OneChart go live. She is and extremely giving and empathic person. I clearly remember the day I found my father lying on the sidewalk as he suffered from a stroke. I was barely a teenager when my father became ill. My family spent countless hours in the hospital, nursing home, and various doctors ' offices trying to learn what had happened to this man who was our pillar of strength. I recall how the nurses became his greatest advocate and always voiced their concern for him. In those moments I realized I had found my calling in the field of nursing.…

Throughout this paper, for the sake of confidentiality I will be referring to the private duty nurse that I interviewed as Danielle, and her patient as Racquel. Some of Danielle's job duties consist of taking care of and attending to most of Racquel's medical needs on a daily basis, providing in-home monitoring and accompanying her at school and during out of town visits.…
