My professional growth goal is to improve my questioning skills, integrate more technology in my lessons, and greatly improve my classroom management before I have my own classroom.

I have currently incorporated technology into my lessons by using Flipcharts and PowerPoints to guide student learning as well as using Kahoot to assess student learning. With the great advances in technology, there are a plethora of resources for both students and teachers. In today’s world, children grow up using technology, so incorporating technology into the classroom would help them to learn and enjoy learning. A teacher should always have plenty of resources that aide students in learning and technology makes it a lot easier for some. With the variety of

Jacie, I understand that you need help with finding ways to use technology to help the students that you work with. In my last class, EDCI 516 Reading in Content, we discussed and researched sources and websites that teachers can use as a tool to help improve, practice, and review site words, spelling words, reading comprehension, and mathematical skills with their students. I, myself, was not very familiar with technology and the utilization of it in a grade school classroom. After taking EDCI 516 and practicing using the Google search engine to locate web-based resources that I can use to work with elementary students, I now feel more comfortable using technology in a classroom setting.…

To help teachers integrate technology more effectively into their teaching, professional development around educational technology should be a higher priority for schools and districts, and it needs to be ongoing and collaborative. Professional development on educational technology should focus on what students need to learn, rather than on how to use a specific device. I will create standards that will met the needs of every school in the district to establish infrastructure of learning new technology inside the classroom. Introducing new technology ideas take effort from the board of education, administrators and faculty members to surpass the standards expectation of educational. Those standards will only be met if faculty and…

According to Standard 5.1 candidates will be able to conduct needs assessments to determine school-wide, faculty, grade-level, and subject area strengths and weaknesses to inform the content and delivery of technology-based professional learning programs. In the ITEC 7460 Professional Learning and Technology Innovation course, I was able to demonstrate this by completing an Individual Teacher Technology Assessment using Knight’s Partnership Approach. Using a Loti Questionnaire, an Innovation & Ideas Adoption Survey, and interviews, I admininstered a needs assessment to Mrs. Smith, an AP Calculus Teacher, to determine her level of technology use, her attitudes towards change, and to identify her needs. In order to assess her level of technology use and…

In this article, a key idea that I read about was how integrating technology into the classroom is sometimes put on pause because of the teacher’s knowledge and experience with technology, pedagogy, and content (TPAC). The world is constantly changing and that is including technology. It is a teacher’s responsibility to change and grow with these changes that can be so important to student’s lives and help them to better their future and education. Technology is a complicated thing, but integrating it into the classroom betters the students because they are learning in a more fun and engaging way, rather than reading word-for-word from a textbook. Integrating technology into the classroom could start at watching a simple video clip about a topic or go all the way to doing a whole unit straight from computers and tablets.…

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked.…

Setting up classroom rules and modeling the type of behavior you expect from your students must be demonstrated from you. Being an effective educator also is developed from being able to inspire and motivate your children to learn. In being an educator, you must never become too complacent in your career because with this world of cutting edge technology there is always room to grow and to enhance your teaching abilities. “Teachers with high perceptions of educational technology self-skills have high perceptions of classroom management skills. Students in this generation are known as digital natives because they have grown up with technology within their lives and are able to manipulate it well (Coviello, 2013). Technology is a great additive within every classroom because it can be manipulated to include every student in the classroom as well as the teacher. Technology can be arranged to fit any lesson plan and can also improve engagement because it something that children use on the daily basis within their homes. Being able to manipulate technology in school helps to boost motivation within students who are used to manipulating technology outside of the classroom. The classroom arrangement that best fits this method is one that a future teacher can and will be using within their own classroom.…
