I have displayed many of the 'A' level characteristics listed on the Professional Ethos Guidelines. I have turned every assignment in on time and feel I have put forth excellent effort towards those assignments. This course can really benefit my future and help me reach my career aspirations, and I feel as if I have put in the work for this class with that at mind. I have been respectful to my peers and done my best to give them useful advice in improving their assignments. I have been active in group discussions over the readings and have offered discussion questions that I believe would promote thinking in the classroom. Lastly, I have asked for personal help from the instructor to improve my own assignment.
One thing I could improve on is being more vocal during class. I have volunteered to read on occasion and have answered multiple questions, but I haven't always been the first to speak up even when I know the answer to the question asked. As a sophomore, I have not been very proactive or even really thought about the application process for medical school. This course has gotten me a head start in updating my application and writing my personal statement. I never knew what a personal statement was or that I even needed one, so I am thankful that it was brought up in this course. I also am glad that we are reading The Butchering Art in class, since reading was kind of lost hobby of mine that I have been wanting to get back to, and it has been a really interesting
