Professional Dispositions Of Students

Compassion- A classroom is a safe place for students. It is up to the teacher to create this environment. Teachers can do this by talking to students in the hallways, when they get off the bus, when they are switching classes, and ask them how they are doing, what they did over the weekend, and mean it. When a teacher talks to a students and has a real conversation, it makes that student feel special. It makes that student feel like someone cares about them. Advocacy- This such an important trait in a teacher. Teachers can take the time to talk to their students about their concerns, needs, and issues. If you asked me what I would do if I was not a teacher I would answer honestly, I do not know. Teachers get to school early and leave late. We change things to better our students.
