There is many factors deciding the salaries of players such as their value towards the team in winning or skill, insurance, or when they finish their careers, they have nowhere else to go most of the time, because they had spent a significant time of their life in sports. In the first place, athletes are not liable …show more content…
When others are struggling to find good employment, or pay off debts and loans, athletes seem to have such a large sum of money to spend. Compared to someone who works their entire lives to save lives, such as firefighters, police or doctors, they make only a small fraction towards athletes, who seem to just entertain and have fun in their profession. Although injuries can deduct a significant amount of their pay, it doesn’t make sense why someone would be making $228 million over four years to play, even though they provide a presence on their team along with injuries. People who work endlessly to at least make a day’s wage only make a small fraction of what the lowest paid NBA bust does in their lifetime. As a matter of fact, athletes who do not provide anything towards their team are the ones who do not deserve their pay, since they are negatively affecting their team in a bad way. Overall, there is many factors in play about a professional athlete’s salary. Injuries will always play a big factor in deducting their pay, along with their short careers with nowhere to go afterwards. Even though an athlete’s pay may frustrate some, they dedicate endless amounts of time in order to become better at their profession, as doctors do in order to do their profession correctly. People should understand athletes’ hard work that they do in order to earn what they

There are many people who think that, because they work really hard, NFL players deserve the surplus of money that they are currently paid.
