Imagine you are a hardworking doctor or lawyer, and you aren't getting paid the amount you should be. Other people like you who are bettering our community aren't getting paid the amount they should be, and all of your tax money is going towards paying for athletic stadiums. Doctors, teachers, government employees, police officers, firefighters, and lawyers should be receiving the money that athletes receive. Professional athletes provide entertainment for society, but I believe they receive an unreasonable salary. Overall, athletes are overpaid because all they are doing is playing a game to entertain while other more important professions are making much less, they don't contribute to society, there are better places to use the money, and the money received could be used to pay for more useful causes that would benefit our society.…

One reason i feel they are not overpaid is they had earned to be there they had earned to be playing on that field. Like Paul George when he snapped his leg is basketball that costed approximately $65,000 dollars for surgery. One example is Tom Brady he is a 5 time super bowl champ quarterback.…

I am personally a collegiate athlete and knows what an athlete goes through. Players shouldn’t get paid millions of dollars like professional athletes, because why would players go on to try and play professionally. On the contrary they should deserve some type of revenue whether it's for clothes shopping, take someone out on a date, gas money, etc. For example that’s the same thing as me asking my friend to do something for me and he does all the work while I sit back and relax.…

Players bring in a lot of money for colleges, the college even sells their jersey with their name on it and they still get nothing. Many players have argued the NCAA about that and they have done nothing about it. According to the movie “Fab Five” (2011) the players were the top in the country and they were a championship team and while they were working their butts off they were poor and one of the saw their jersey in a store window and wonder why is he not getting paid for using his name, and they are making money but he is struggling to find their next meal. So in Dismissal college athletes should be paid because the colleges make money off of them and they get nothing. According to Brian Porto in Should College Athletes be Paid, “College athletes are exploited by the universities they represent on the playing field. The Athletes can see that everyone else around them is making money but they are not allowed to have any. This gives them incentives to accept illegal payments from boosters and agents or to order into deals.” This type of statement shows that college athletes feel that they get left out.…
