Teachers, fire fighters and policemen are jobs that earn salaries of less than $40,000 a year. An athlete is running around playing a simple game, and winning the adoration of fans everywhere while teachers, the most important job above all receives no respect and barely enough money to live off of. Secondary athletes, the ones you see warming the bench at every game, earns more than most people, basically for doing nothing. Imagine you are a hardworking doctor or lawyer, and you aren't getting paid the amount you should be. Other people like you who are bettering our community aren't getting paid the amount they should be, and all of your tax money is going towards paying for athletic stadiums. Doctors, teachers, government employees, police officers, firefighters, and lawyers should be receiving the money that athletes receive. Professional athletes provide entertainment for society, but I believe they receive an unreasonable salary. Overall, athletes are overpaid because all they are doing is playing a game to entertain while other more important professions are making much less, they don't contribute to society, there are better places to use the money, and the money received could be used to pay for more useful causes that would benefit our society.…

The average salary of a professional NBA player is about 5.15 million dollars. When one takes this massive amount of dough and compares it to the average salary of a middle class citizen, which ranges from 42,000 dollars to 125,000 dollars, one would notice that the NBA player makes substantially more than the average citizen. Professional athletes should have smaller salaries because jobs that save lives get payed way less, ---, and the money they are getting could be used to help the community. When looking at the paychecks of athletes and the paychecks of people in the military or people who are doctors, you would realize, the athlete gets more money. This is completely and utterly absurd.…
