“Product Placement and Advergaming” by Michael Solomon describes how movies and video games are advertising companies’ products. Product placement had begun in the late eighteen hundreds. The purpose of product placement was to get better ways of doing advertisement on television shows and movies. It first started with movies and shows changing up the company name to something similar. With product placements happening many products were able to be sold, just like Coca-Cola being used on television shows like American Idol. Another example is how people will see an Allstate insurance commercial in every college football game or how the Allstate symbol is on the field goal net.
