Proctoring at University of the People Proctoring is the process of supervising someone taking an exam or quiz. At University of the People, proctoring is part of the Student Identity Verification Policy, as outlined on page 29 of the University Catalog. As such, it serves as a tool to verify the identity of the student is correct. This ensures that the student taking the course is also the student taking the exam. Furthermore, proctoring serves to ensure academic integrity during exams and discourage cheating on exams that don’t allow open notes or books. An appropriate proctor, as noted on page 55 of the University Catalog, must be a responsible adult at least 21 years old, be willing to comply with University of the People’s standards for exam proctoring, have reliable internet access, and be physically present with the student during the exam. A proctoring service can also be used, such as ProctorU. All proctors are subject to approval by the University and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The Catalog explicitly outlines that the chosen proctor cannot have a conflict of interests with the outcome of the student’s grade on a particular exam and that proctors …show more content…

An example of a proctor that I would possibly use in the future would be me team lead at work.
