Every person in this world might have felt lazy and want to push back everything behind so they can make time for themselves to enjoy a moment of leisure; especially when you are under a lot of stress, all you desire to do is to take a rest and forget everything about it. Procrastination is the (lack of) action that people take to put things off -delaying their urgent tasks until just before the deadline, which is a part of the temptation that people feel usually. It is hard to resist when pressure and distractions are around. However, with a bit of effort of responsibility and motivation, procrastination could be easily overcome. Due to an amount of overwhelming workload, some people tend to put it off. Procrastination is easily promoted …show more content…
When the tasks are stacked up sky high, the first thing people normally think about is “When am I going to finish all of this,” rather than, “I should start working on them.” Just to think about what should be done by the deadline, procrastinators sigh and silently lose motivation. When the problem is caused by lack of motivation, people would say they got “lazy”. Laziness could occur from losing motivation, however, when you are lazy, then the procrastination could become a bigger issue and harder to overcome. Lack of motivation could happen by losing focus momentarily, but most likely when you are lazy, your brain and body functions will slow down your actions. Especially when the length of the assignment is long and not willing to accomplish any sooner, the laziness could occur even more frequently. Additionally, when the person has no motivation, it is likely to get distracted easily by little things. For example, sometimes the procrastinators give excuses about having no time for homework, because there were lots of chores and tasks to be checked off from the list first. Students often say they cannot focus when their desk is messy, which brings up an effect of wasting time on something else than what actually has to be …show more content…
“Some techniques of time management are well suited to overcoming procrastination, and others that can make it even worse,” (Understanding and Overcoming Procrastination). The definition of time management is not necessarily having every minute of the day planned out, it means managing your time wisely and being efficient with your tasks and work to maximize the time you have. Give yourself enough time to finish the tasks and reward yourself with several breaks for what you have done so far. In case of unexpected or forgotten responsibility that pops up in your mind, flexibility is also needed for time management. For example, if you think reading a book is going to take two hours, write, “two hours and thirty minutes” on your time management planner, which might include restroom break, or short snack
