Lay-ups are the best shot you can get in a game. You need touch, versatility, and be able to use each side of the basket. To be able to reliably make a lay-up you need to be able to finish which needs touch. A good drill for touch would be to be next to the basket and then spin the ball slightly in front of the basket and grab the and lay the ball into the hoop with the correct hand without using the backboard or hitting the rim. This drill will help with using the right hand on the right side. A simple drill that will help with being able to use different styles of a lay-up is called rapid fire. To start be at about a 45 degree angle at the three point and attack the basket and lay the ball in the 6 different styles: normal, lead, euro step, reverse, passing, and jump stop.

4. Range is not the aspect that makes you good. Range is how far you can shoot from, usually you don’t see centers shooting threes. Your range should not change your form because you don't have enough power to get it to the basket. Depending on what position you play really does determine where you should be shooting from, if you're a wing or point guard then you can be shooting beyond the free throw, or 15 footer. If you're a post or center, than you really should be shooting inside 15

You’re expecting me to give you a step by step, in depth explanation of how to save a ball, but much to your dismay, I don’t have one. The reason being that it’s pretty much an instinct you have or you don’t when it comes to saving a ball. What I can give you is a breakdown of shots you’ll encounter. There exactly seven quadrants the attack players are trained to shoot at: stick-side high, stick-side hip, stick-side low, off-stick high, off-stick hip, off-stick low, and five hole. Stick-side refers to your dominant hand’s side, so if you’re a right-handed person the stick-side refers to the right and the off-stick side refers to your left hand.…
