Jewlya Stokes-Bullying, it just happens that it is the fastest growing trend amongst all teens. When some repeatedly harrasses you on purpose, you know you are being bullied. A lot of the time it is the kids with disabilities that are bullied. Yet the question is, “Why bully?”. The answer ranges and can be anything from an imbalance of power to the way someone looks or acts. Every victim has their own anecdote to share. In this paper you will hear three, Adalia Rose, Lizzie Velasquez, and Ammaar Hussein.

Three of them belong to Ammaar Hussein, Lizzie Velasquez , and Adalia Rose. Ammaar Hussein, age sixteen, has a disability. He is deaf. He was also bullied because of that disability. Children in the school spoke very slowly exaggerating the words and making fun of Ammaar. Pretty soon it got to the point where their words would affect the way he lived his daily life. “I kept thinking that I couldn’t communicate properly and that people wouldn’t understand me if I tried. I felt embarrassed.” said Ammaar. One boy even went so far as to call him a robot just because he had his hearing aid in his ear. Ammaar tried to ignore that boy but in his mind he kept thinking, “Do I really look so different?” Ammaar now works as an anti-bullying ambassador in his school. He helps out other deaf children who are being bullied because they are not able to hear. Just recently he made a video for the National Deaf Children’s Society. In it he gives tips for ways to deal with bullying. One tip is, “Don’t believe the bullies.” He thinks his biggest mistake was listening to what the bullies would tell him. "I did not realise that they were trying to ruin my confidence," says Ammaar. "Remember, bullying is never your fault.” That is just one of the ways to deal with bullying.
