Have you ever wondered how to change your own tire? There are many steps that you must take to properly replace a flat tire. There are different precautions when at different places you should take in order to replace a flat tire. If you do any of these steps the incorrect way it can be very fatal while driving down the road. If your flat tire is in the back for instance, you must place the jack under the rear end of the vehicle on the rear axle. After the jack is directly under the rear axle you must pump the handle of the jack so that it starts to take some pressure off the flat tire but it still on the ground. After that you should loosen up the the lug nuts and the reason you do it while the tire is still on the ground is back it will stop the tire from moving. It is not necessary but if you would like to you can grease the lug bolts so it keeps the lug nuts and lugs bolts fresh and reduces the amount of rust. After you have taken off the flat tire you can place the new tire on the lug bolts again making sure you don't push the car off the jack. Once the new tire is on the lug bolts, you should screw on the lug nuts but you must do it in a diagonal order. For example, if you screw on a lug nut at the top you should screw on the one directly across and so on. You should tighten the lug nuts until the tire starts to spin. Once the lug nuts are all on you can lower the jack by turning the jack handle counterclockwise until the tire is fully on the ground.
After the tire is on the ground you may pull the jack out from under the car and tighten up the lug nuts as tight as you possibly can. Be sure to put the tools away and then you will be on your way ready to start driving once
