Process Essay: How To Play Softball

Improved Essays
My favorite activity is softball. Therefor I am going to direct you on how to hit a softball/baseball. First, you get a bat that is not to long and not too heavy. Because if the bat is too long and too heavy you will not be able to time up the pitcher and hit the ball on time. When you are up to bat and you hit the ball and it goes to the right of you, that means you swung too late. If it goes to the left you swung the bat to early. And if it goes down the middle of the field your swing is good. If you have two strikes and you see another strike goes by for the strikeout, make sure you swing whether you hit it or not just do not watch it go by. Next, you go into the batter's box. Observe the pitcher to see how fast and hard she/he is pitching.

Most of the information in here apply to baseball as well, but there are still some important things to learn here. The game will usually go for 9 innings which are divided in two parts. Each team consists of nine players. Teams in the outfield consist of a pitcher, a catcher, three members at each base, a player in-between second and third base called short stop, and then the remaining three team mates are in the outfield beyond the bases. The other team then takes turns using an aluminum bat (as is tradition) to hit the ball which is thrown by the pitcher of the opposing team.…

It may not be the prettiest swing but the main idea is to get the basic steps down. There are different stances and set ups in the batter's box, and there are also different ways to hit a baseball. Once you get to the contact point and get the main idea, the differences that occurred stop, and similarities start.
