Process Essay: How To Play Basketball

Coaches like players who look in shape and are not, "fat." You need to exercise daily and do sprints. In Basketball, you need to run up and down the court often so you need to be used to running a lot and that also stretches your muscles. You need to be flexible so you can jump high and get the ball. Stretching your legs out daily, doing burpies, and doing some jumping jacks will help. Doing push-ups and pull-ups will help with your shots because you need arm strength to shoot the ball into the hoop.

Be Mentally Focused-
When you get on the court, you need to bring a positive attitude for the practices and games. If you don't have any self-confidence that you can play a good game, you won't ever. Doing some basic drills like layups will get your mind diverted to Basketball. Don't play around or you will lose your focus and mess up. This also gets your mind set that you can do it and achieve your goal. If you just want to play basketball for fun and not actually spend time practicing it, I suggest that you don't try out because you will never be mentally focused, During practices and games, be aware of your surroundings and listen to what your coach is telling. Know basketball tactics like Pick and Roll or Fast Break. In my opinion, a Give and Go is the best strategy because you pass the ball to another teammate, run up near the hoop, and you get the ball passed and you do a layup. Skills like Torso Twist, Crossovers, and Hamstring Stretch will help you a lot. A Torso Twist is really good and you do it by spreading legs outside of shoulder width, dribble with right hand. Keeping legs straight, bring ball across body to left side, outside left foot and dribble at shoe top height behind left foot. Being a great team leader and is important because you can show that you can work well with teammates and handle things
