Before anything else, you will need to gather your ingredients: Chex cereal, semi-sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar. Along with your ingredients, make sure you have a large bowl to mix things in, and something to make those ingredients with, and a smaller bowl.

You have to continue to stir the mixture until all of the cereal is coated. If some of the cereal is not coated with the mixture, the powdered sugar will not stick to the cereal as well.
There are different ways to do the next step, but my mom always puts the cereal in a paper bag. Some people put it in Ziploc bags or keep the cereal in the bowl. I am going to put mine is a paper bag. Once the cereal is in the paper bag, it is time for the powdered sugar. Dump in 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar. Shake the paper bag until you think the powdered sugar would be all over the cereal. Open the bag and check. Many times, I tend to add more powdered sugar because that is the best part of the snack. My mom always says to keep dumping in powdered sugar until the cereal looks like it has snow all over it. Dump the puppy chow into a container. After this step, the puppy chow is done.
