Criminal procedure issues faced by law enforcement
Law enforcement is an important area in criminal justice procedures of any nation and is mainly composed of police department and various agencies that work to ensure the law is followed by all. The law enforcement unit ensures that the rules are upheld and ensures that violators are apprehended and handed to the courts for arbitration. In United States the law enforcement unit operates under various agencies which include the federal police, county police, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) among other agencies. Such cases have been more common in drug related activities where the police officers need more resources to reach to more individuals in order to prove a case against a suspect. On the other hand, most of communication and data analysis and storage equipments and systems that many of the law enforcement areas are using do not correspond to the current needs of the unit thus more time is take to prepare for prosecutions compared to the technologies and equipments that the private law firms are using in collecting and analysis data.
