Problems That Occur In America

Improved Essays
We are all the center of our own universes and busy living different lives that we sometimes forget that there are other people who are conscious, breathing, and living just as we do. Problems occur in everyone’s lives, big and small, and it’s very important that, even if we’ve never experienced anything like it, to look through each other’s eyes and understand.

Problems are inevitable and some are worse than others. The lives of us Americans is like sleeping on Cloud-9 compared to those living in third world countries. Although we are not starving on such a scale as Africa, there are still those who live on the streets, wondering where their next meal will come from. I’m typing this on my luxurious laptop, while others beg for a nickle.

The world is starving...but not for food In memory of my endeavors in my elementary school years, I reminisce fondly of the summers I would spend alone, sitting at the foot of my bed and reading in absolute silence. My books were what kept me content day to day from sunrise to sundown, flipping the pages without knowing it. My reading interests were that of any first grader, childish books like World Atlas, The Solar System by Alexander Gordon Smith , or The Science Encyclopedia.…

For example, when breaking news occurs readers do not want to wait until the next day.…

As my Mathematics professor always says, “Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.” For some people who live in the third world countries such as Ethiopia and Sudan, even a few dollars or a cup of water is a great help. However, in today’s society, most people only care about themselves and forget to think of others in need. Less and less people are willing to help others. Moreover, some people once accepted help, but they forget that many are like them that need help.…

Social issues are controversial topics that have spread like an epidemic disease yet unlike an epidemic disease they are not taken very seriously. Innocent lives are taken every other day by individuals we search for when we are in need of help, yet all that society can do is try to brush it under the rug.
