Management problem solving has opened my mind to the idea of questioning everything in an academic, personal, social, and work-based context. I have realised throughout the progression of this unit that questioning the ideas, thoughts, and assumptions of the literature I have read, the arguments of my peers and the opinions of my colleagues, are key to my lifelong learning and professional success. No longer will I accept a one-dimensional perspective and in fact, I will strive to increase my own awareness level to become a more informed global citizen. I personally do not enjoy partaking in group-based assignments based on my own personal negative experiences, although, I do acknowledge the benefits group work can bring. It was highly noticeable to me, that working remotely can be difficult for some students to manage given the lack of existing relationship between members. I, as a team player, was a highly active contributor throughout the creative synthesis projects, who understood my effort would determine not only my own academic outcome but also the outcome of my peers. Although, not all who are trusted with the grades of their peers, take such a responsibility so seriously. Each team member brings different experiences and expectations to the table and therefore, navigating these assessments can be somewhat treacherous if team members are not on the same page. I was able to influence my team members by consistently engaging and encouraging them via Yammer as a means of positively reinforcing them to contribute their ideas to the discussion. Additionally, I also feel there was definitely an element of social loafing present for one team member in particular and as a result “group think” tendencies were obvious at one defining moment when a team member attributed her lack of participation due to medical reasons of a family member, however, conveniently popped up on the Yammer thread the in the days prior to each submission
